TV INTERVIEW, NIGHT BEFORE RACE DAY. (An Alexander Diluca update. 19th of June 2010) [Jun. 20th, 2010|11:26 am]
"Hello, I'm Lindy Thackston, and welcome to another exciting weekend of the two thousand and ten, IZOD Indycar series, coming to you from Iowa Speedway, Newton, Iowa. It's almost race day for the Iowa Corn Indy two fifty. The weather conditions are perfect for fast lap times, but could prove a little uncomfortable for the drivers as they circulate around this extremely fast track, in around eightysix degree heat. The weather forecast says there's a chance it could rain, with possible thunderstorms on race day. Let's hope that tomorrow will turn out to be like the day we've had today, so that we can all enjoy some good, close racing. With me today, I have, three time winner of the Indianapolis five hundred, but yet to be a winner here at Iowa, Alexander Diluca Junior.

Alexander, your currently running in fourth place in the series point standings, only thirtyfive points behind the leader, Dario Franchitti and once again Team Penske has qualified well, here in Iowa. Will Power has pole position for todays race and you have managed to qualify fourth, on the grid, with Dario only one grid position behind you. Are you happy with the car and how it performed on Saturday?"

"You know, Will's a great driver, no one can take that away from him, but he obviously had the perfect set up for his car. That's why he's on pole. So well done to him and his team for the work they put in to set the car up for hopefully a perfect days racing. We had a few problems with the set up for the number three car yesterday but we kept working on it and I'm happy to be in the position I am. If you can be up near the front row in a race like this, then your off to good start. I'm only a second off the pace and we've made a couple of small adjustments to the car, so I'm confident that I can keep the car nice and straight, and hopefully keep up with Will and ahead of Dario."

"A lot of drivers regard this track as one of the toughest oval circuits to race on and over the years it's deffinitely proved to be quite a challenge for them, including yourself. What are your thoughts about Iowa Speedway?"

"Well, Iowa is a fun track, but very tough as well. It's very fast, not only on the straights, but also in the corners and we're constantly in traffic. This is a relatively small track, yet there are a lot of factors that influence the outcome. I've done very well in qualifying for the races at Iowa, but during the race itself I haven't done as well as I would've liked. This year we are working harder than ever at Team Penske and I feel very good about my chances this weekend."

"Thank you very much for your time, Alexander, and I wish you the best of luck for tomorrow."

"Before I go, I just wanted say hi to a few special people, out there. Mom, Dad, all of my family, I love you all and I'll be seeing you again, real soon. Keep smiling, Mia, this one's for you, little sister."

"Well there you have it folks. Alexander Diluca Junior. A family man as well as one of the finest Indycar drivers in the series. On behalf of myself and the rest of the broadcast team, here at Iowa Speedway, we wish you all a safe weekend and very good night. See you all tomorrow, for race day, at the Iowa Corn Indy two fifty."
